I can not speak of high, lofty, incomprehensible inspirations when speaking of myself.  (e.g. I was inspired by post modern impressionism - or something like that.)  I just really like jewelry.  I REALLY, REALLY do.  (I also like shoes and hair, but that’s for another time.)

Shiny baubles of silver and gold, copper, brass and pewter, stones and crystal; I love it all.  The feel of it.  The texture. The weight of it in your hand.  The way it accentuates your features.   Good jewelry can make a drab outfit not so drab.  A rainy day becomes sunny.  That is why I started making my own.  I wanted to be able to customize my jewelry to suit my moods and wardrobe. 

Feeling like a diva? Try a sparkly collar.  Feeling down to earth?  Something chunky or ethnic might do the trick.  Going on an interview?  Pearls with a touch of silver or gold are classic without being boring.

I wanted to control the quality of materials that went into each piece.  I wanted earrings to go with that necklace, and a necklace to match those earrings.  I wanted bracelets for my naked wrist. (and oh boy, was it naked!).  I also wanted something that was affordable, but not cheap!

At first I created just for me. Then my family and friends wanted some.  And then they told their friends…. Now, here I am; Jennifer Crayton, founder of Crayton’s Creations.
